Adele Sharp Mysteries – Blake Pierce

Left to Die, Book One

Adele’s case has gone cold.  So she’s headed home to San Francisco, to her boyfriend, and what she hopes will be a ring on her finger.  But that’s not what’s waiting.  As she struggles to deal with this new wrinkle, she’s called back in by her supervisor; seems her psychopath has gone international.

Not ready to go back to the country of her childhood, Adele nonetheless is determined to stop the Benjamin Killer before he claims another victim.

I discovered Pierce in Face of Murder, another haunted main character, with deep secrets that shape their life’s trajectory.  It seems the author’s forte.  Fascinating characters, chilling plot line.  His narrative grabs you and holds you fast.  I loved this new series with its slightly damaged heroine.  You will too!

Left to Run, Book Two

Adele has accepted the offer to join Interpol.  A position that brings her back to Paris, closer to the father she hadn’t seen in years, and gives her impetus to get back on the trail of her mother’s killer.

There’s a serial killer making his methodical way through the Parisian expat community.  Pierce is masterful, his narrative perfectly suited to this convoluted thriller genre.  This is an unputdownable book that will have you obsessively turning pages till you’ve hurled to the end.  An end that brings with it a couple of rather unexpected twists.  An excellent continuation of the Adele Sharp series, it leaves one waiting with bated breath for book three.  Highly recommend!
